Job Description
As a housekeeper, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our home remains a clean, safe, and welcoming space. The position involves a wide range of housekeeping duties aimed at maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene standards in all areas of the house. The ideal candidate should have a keen eye for detail, be proactive, and maintain professionalism at all times.
Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and sanitizing: Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; clean surfaces, windows, and mirrors; dust furniture and fixtures; sanitize bathrooms and kitchens.
  • Laundry: Washing, drying, ironing, and folding clothes, bed linens, and towels.
  • Organizing: Keep rooms, closets, and common areas organized and clutter-free.
  • Meal preparation: Occasionally assist with meal preparation and simple kitchen duties.
  • Bed-making: Change bed linens and make beds regularly.
  • Waste disposal: Empty trash bins and ensure proper waste disposal.
  • Running errands: As needed, assist with shopping or collecting supplies for household maintenance.
  • Reporting maintenance issues: Identify and report any necessary repairs or maintenance needs around the house.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience: Prior experience in housekeeping or a similar role is preferred but not mandatory. We are willing to train the right person with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Attention to detail: The ability to notice details that need to be addressed and ensure thorough cleaning.
  • Time management: Ability to efficiently manage time to complete tasks within the designated time frame.
  • Physical stamina: This role involves physical activities such as bending, lifting, and standing for long periods.
  • Trustworthiness: Candidates must be reliable, honest, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Communication skills: Basic knowledge of English and Kiswahili for effective communication within the household.

Work Schedule
  • Days: Monday to Saturday
  • Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • You may occasionally be required to work additional hours, especially during special events or occasions. Any overtime will be compensated accordingly.
Benefits
  • Salary: KSh 15,000 per month
  • Meals: Lunch will be provided on working days.
  • Accommodation: This is a live-out position; however, we can assist in finding nearby accommodation if required.
  • Public holidays: Off on public holidays unless special arrangements are made in advance, in which case compensation will be offered.
  • Annual leave: 21 days of paid leave per year after completing the probationary period.
