Why Azimio Demos Won't Happen Come Next Week!

President William Ruto has made a firm commitment to prevent Raila Odinga, the leader of Azimio la Umoja, from exploiting the suffering of Kenyans in his quest for power. During a speech in Naivasha, Ruto declared that he would employ any necessary methods to halt the Opposition leader's progress.

Ruto directly addressed Raila Odinga, asserting, "Raila Odinga, I will not permit you to pursue power by capitalizing on the sacrifices made by Kenyans. I will put an end to your endeavors." His remarks were prompted by Azimio's announcement that they would be conducting continuous protests for three consecutive days, commencing the following week.

The president condemned Raila for employing unconstitutional tactics to gain entry into the government, emphasizing that such actions would not be tolerated. Ruto has consistently maintained his position that a political alliance with Raila will never materialize.

Ruto expressed his disbelief regarding the upcoming Wednesday demonstration, stating, "There will be no protest on Wednesday. This man, Raila Odinga, has caused chaos in our country, resulting in numerous deaths. He interfered with the administrations of Mwai Kibaki and Uhuru Kenyatta, and recently, he led protests that led to property destruction."

Ruto further stated, "I am determined to confront and prevent the path you are taking."Azimio protests on Wednesday resulted in at least nine confirmed deaths nationwide, although the actual number is suspected to be higher.

In response, the Raila-led group announced that the anti-government demonstrations would continue for three days the following week. Azimio cited requests from various sectors and proclaimed that the peaceful protests would take place on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Defiantly, Raila declared that the demonstrations would occur regardless of whether the government granted them a permit. "We will organize nationwide protests next week on Wednesday, whether or not the government approves," Raila stated.
